Featuring a Dual Pedal Drive System, Rudder-Controlled Steering, Huge Weight Capacity, Excellent Tracking, Ergonomic Seat Design there’s not much more you can wish for in a kayak. The PK14 tandem kayak gives both excellent kayaking and fishing experience.
The hull is 14 feet long, giving you and a possible second person plenty of leg space and storage space. But there’s also the benefit of stability with this kayak size. Even though it’s quite large, an experienced kayaker can easily maneuver the kayak with a paddle.
With this much stability, the kayak is nearly untippable. Plus, you can easily climb on/off the kayak due to the handles on the side of the hull.
The weight capacity is 660 pounds which is quite impressive considering the kayak weighs just 99 pounds. That means there’s plenty of room on board. The rear cargo area can easily fit a bigger cooler or a tackle box.
A small part of the weight capacity is the three watertight hatches with dry bag inserts, perfect for anything you don’t want to get wet.
Drawbacks are expected with a bigger kayak. For starters, it’s quite heavy to carry overland. If you do plan on making frequent trips, you can buy aftermarket wheels to carry around the kayak.
As in any other BKC model, the seats are phenomenal. They adjust so you can reach your optimal distance for reaching the pedals.
If you plan on taking the kayak out alone without a second, you should know that the rudder steering is on the rear seat.
BKC offers a 5-year hull warranty, 1-year parts warranty, and they even include a 2-year pedal warranty.
The cargo space is big enough for a kayak fisherman to load up on their favorite gear, or if you are just an enthusiast you can easily pack a crate full of your favorite camping supplies or foods.
